A little more info on the Eco friendly head pipe please...
Is the Eco friendly head pipe similar to just removing the cat in the stock pipe ? Is there some type of crossover inside or just a simple 2-1-2 like the stock with cat removed ? Any disadvantages to it over a true dual set-up other than price ? I'm not interested in making power just less heat and more noise. I currently run the Big Louie's 2.5 with the stock head pipe.
I had V & H true duals and 3.5 mufflers with 2.25 baffles on my Street Glide and really loved the sound. Just looking to spend a little less money this time around. Thanks....
You are correct, it's a simple 2-1-2 similar to stock with no cat. No disadvantages compared to true duals. Main difference is just the appearance. The eco friendly uses the stock shields so we can offer it at a lower price. Great way to reduce heat, get some sound, and not break the bank. Tuning with a fuel management system is required. Thanks for your continued support!
How much sound with stock mufflers? I would like to get rid of heat but
keep sound to a minimum.
We generally don't provide DB levels due to all the variables of testing. I don't have any data for the REC17 system with stock mufflers. The sound levels will be very similar to our other headpipe options like the 7017 true duals. I've never heard a bike with aftermarket pipes and stock mufflers. I assume it will increase the volume but only slightly.
Since getting rid of heat is the main concern. Please be aware that the eco system is only chrome plated and reuses the stock chrome heat shields. Our 7017 and 7017HO head pipe systems are ceramic coated pipes (inside and out) with chrome shields and will drastically reduce the heat. The eco system will reduce the heat, just not as much as our ceramic coated systems.
Thanks for considering Rush and sorry I can't provide more detailed info. I'll ask around here for more info and maybe some forum members might have info on this.
