Default CVO Mods.

Almost everyone does at least a stage 1 upgrade on their regular Harleys. Sounds good and the bike runs better and cooler. I'm considering a CVO now. What are the common mods?

Same types of things. Need hi flow exhaust, a/c and tuner. Seat, bars, etc.

You don't need the high flow a/c on a CVO. It already has it. I changed the entire exhaust on both of my CVOs. You will need a tuner if you change out the headpipes. I changed the bars and the seat on the CVO SG. I didn't need to do either of those on the CVO Limited. Other than that, just small stuff like trim rings for the lights and turn signals and floorboard extenders.

Replace lifters soon. Cams, Header pipe and tuner, dyno. That's really all you NEED, but do what makes you feel good, lol.

second the lifters. KNow problem and when they go they can take out the motor. At the same time replace the cams as the 255 is an EPA cam and produces a lot of heat. Also, the cam bearing is weak and needs replacing.

Lifters I would suggest the S&S lifters

Not sure if it helps, but on my 2013 CVO Ultra I've done the following:

George Anderson tourpak plate to slide tourpak back
Progressive mono tubes to lower front 1 inch and get rid of brake dive
Progressive 944 in the rear
Jackpot exhaust, with ceramic coated header and Power Vision tuner
bright *** tail light
Truc Lite LED head light and spots
Passenger hand rails
Added wiring to keep spots on when hi-beam is on
rewired tourpak lights so they function as turn signals as well as brake lights
replaced passenger floorboards mount to add passenger adjustable foot
pad
Added Motorcycle Armor to tank, top of side bags, side of bike where her
boots scrape the paint
Cup holder for her
New windsplitter 10" shield
Hadrware to extend the width of the riders floor boards
Replaced pins to hold on side bags so they can't be stolen
Replaced crappy hinges on tourpak with premium push button hinges

Default Thanks fellas

Thanks for the advice fellas. Hoping to land a CVO King so some of what you guys have done doesn't apply (tour pak stuff), but I appreciate the advice anyway. I'm just looking to know if I need to do the usual stuff or less, or more, to get her to run a little cooler and maybe a little better (I did the minimum to my 2010 Heritage). Of course this is IF I even get this bike. It looks like I'm not buying until March. I know of three CVO Kings locally right now. Two are at a dealer who is aggressively offering deals, the other is at a dealer who doesn't seem to care if he sells it or not. I don't think they will last, but again thanks for the advice.

Puma,
Just change the slipons if you want a bit more sound. Ride it for 1000 mikes and see if you want a different seat or bars. You don't need stage 1 on a cvo bike. Some riders get into more serious performance mods for whatever reason. Unless you are passionate about getting more performance, don't bother and you basically will have a solid, dependable engine/drivetrain for years.

Thanks K. With the Heavy Breather already in place I was thinking maybe the engine is already at the Stage 1 level, but you know how they tend to come from the factory running lean.
