My 07 FXSTSSE was leaking a little and took it to the stealer and they replaced the rear cylinder. They sayed it was a bad tooling job and just replaced it. I would expect better QA from CVO but what's a guy suppose to do?
Mine developed a leak in the rear rocker box at 12K miles. Easy fix. Replaced gasket. Had no idea until reading this thread the 110" had so many problems.
Be careful of this so called CVOHARLEY forum. There are plenty of nay-sayers there that don't even own a 110, have never ridden one and absolutely have never been into the engine - but they will bad mouth your engine for you and tell you all that is wrong with it. Their information is hear-say so these people are basically rumor carrying internet gabbers.
The 110 is the same basic engine HD has been building since '99 except that the 110 has the cases bored for larger cylinder barrels for the larger bore but has the same stroke as the 96 ci.. Some other refinments and improvements have been done to the engine and it is 'cammed-up' from the factory.
Don't be led astray by these expert nay-sayers just because they inhabit a "CVO" named forum. I have 2000 miles on this 08 SERK without the slightest problem and no overheat on 100 degree days with high speed and hard riding. Some of the '07's may have had a problem with heating but there is no problem in that respect with this 110 engine. The only complaint that I have is slightly too much valve train noise - but I'm told that I'm too 'persnikity' about my bike, and I am!
