Getting ready to ride 4400 miles. You guys think the 117 kit (originally a 110) can handle 8 to 10 hour days. Only got 7400 miles on the bike got about 1000 miles with the 117 kit on it. Been running great first long trip on it with the kit..
But tell us more. Fully stock SE kit, aftermarket kit, parts, etc.
My Rig is not a stock SE kit. Built bottom end (Dark Horse), entire inside of my motor was replaced with brand new hardware, new SE Comp, New Clutch, Head work by Don @ HD Street Performance. Dynoed, etc.
I have done all day rides, trips, and never thought twice. And my ESP has been gone 2 months after I did my 117" upgrade when they first came out.

Have the Harley 117 kit for the 110. I have the Harley race tuner the one thats banned, Vance and Hines xpipe , Vance and Hines high output slipons. The kit came with 259 cams and the 58mm throttle body and CBC ported heads. Its a beast. Was curious about reliability on this build.. thanks
I can’t speak for the 110 to a 117 but I did the stage 5 TS 103 to a 110 on my 12 FLHTK. It performed flawlessly and was a blast to ride. I also had the HD orange tuner, ran a V&H Pro Pipe and high flow air cleaner. I rode it about 1,000 miles, had it dynoed and left for Sturgis and few hundred miles later. I returned 10 days and 4,400 miles later with no issues. Day 1 and 2 we rode about 700 moles each day and had a couple of long days heading back.
Just go ride it and enjoy it...
I do highly recommend changing stock SE Lifters and Valve springs. Those two stock items have been known for causing havoc and ruining motors in the stock 110" motors.

Well I can report that after a 5500 mile run the 117 kit was well worth the money..Power , power, and more power wow is all I can say!!!

Thinking about going with this kit on my Fat boy s. I am just concerned about the longevity of it. I am thinking about doing it over the winter. I still have three years left on esp which will still apply if I have it installed by the dealer. Getting everything together to do the 30/70 pulley swap on my next rear tire change. Just picked up my pulleys today from Surdyke with a black Friday deal. The 117 kit and pulley change should make the bike a bit more fun to ride.
I just completed the 110 to 117 conversion in November. On my 2016 CVO LIMITED S&S lifters tc3 oil pump S&S cam plate.
Fuel pack 3 tuner . Only got 150 miles on it but I am loving it. Weather in N.Y. has held me back
Only issue with that build is the crappy SE lifters and valve springs. However you would have same issue with the stock 110. The springs have to much pressure, and the lifters fail quickly, as soon as 20K miles some times.
That said a well built motor can handle traveling just fine. Mines been all over the Eastern USA, some 600 mile days.
