Default Cam for stock SE110

Had a lifter go South on my 2013 107 build and the whole engine is toast. I've decided on getting a 110 long block to replace it.
The long blocks come with everything except rocker boxes, cam cover and cams.
Question is, what cam to put in it?
I'm pretty sure I'll be doing performance work eventually, so it would be nice if the cams work well with higher compression and larger displacement.
I like the power to come on at about 3K.
Any thoughts?

Moneywise, you could have your engine built into a 124 low compression for not much difference than a longblock + new cams.
Don't forget to replace the oil pan.

1. I don't like the idea of a 4 5/8 stroke for reliability. (I've got 145,000 miles on the 13 and hope to double that).
2. The 110 long block was $5,000 and a well built 117" would be over $7,000 by the time all of the extras (throttle body etc.) was considered.
3. I had the oil pan taken apart and cleaned.

For whats it's worth, when my rig was a 110" motor, I had Andrews 54 cam, Fullsac D-Xpipe 2.25' ballfes tuned via TTS.
It ran Killer. But nothing like it runs now with my built 117" motor.

I think Tman made a cam for the CVO 110" with good results too. Other will chime in with their thoughts too.

124" is the great size, proven motor. If it's in your budget.

Good Luck.

Cool Food for thought ...

The long block is a very good starting point ...with just a few up grades can be a real tq monster ...

start by pulling the heads and having the valve springs changed to a set of stock beehive's ( as the big heavy double springs on the 110 heads are the reason the lifters don't last on the stock motors)
(also makes for a very quite top end)

then reinstall with a .030" MLS head gasket ...(too bring compression to about a 10 to 1 )(would be even better if milled .010" also)(while the heads are off , treat them to a very mild port clean up and match the intake manifold to the head )

we would stay with a cam in the 240 duration range ....and have seen very good tq #'s with the (Chris Rives) Rocket 574 ...made by S&S ...(really good bottom end and a very flat tq curve to redline )
there are a couple in our group pulling 130+ tq and 119-123 hp...very hard to stay with this kind of tq. in any gear ...

good luck ...

with those OE flat tops, mill the heads and put MLS gaskets in, thatll really wake up the motor and open up alot more doors on cam choices.. or chunk up some additional funds and stage 3 it with HC domed pistons and 259's as well as the packaged SEPST

you can drop alot of cams with the motor as is, very nice streetable motor, but, as mentioned milling, and MLS opens up doors and leaves them open for future upgrades.. might as well do it now

im more for torque, wrist breaking surges of power, not so much for top end screaming, so i lean towards torque cams, which require high CR, but you lose on top, im ok with that.. my loss when going from 259 to the 777 was 7HP at 6100, but i gained 21lbs TQ at 2800, i rarely scream the motor
