Yesterday, while out for a ride on my 2020 CVO Limited, a popup appeared on GTS screen that said "Low on Fuel, find nearest fuel station". Not that I make it a practice of running into reserve, but it's nice to know the popup works.
After using the trigger switch to check the reserve readout, it showed 32 miles and counted down. Again normal.
What was odd is that when I pressed the trigger switch again, it said LF131 miles and every 50 feet or so it kept increasing 1 mile at a time.
Now LF I would think meant low fuel. But why would it state 131 miles and keep advancing? I checked the owners manual and it has nothing about this. After refueling, everything was as it should be.
Anyone else notice this?
I notice the same thing on my 2020 a few weeks ago. I think its a new feature showing how many miles you have gone since your low fuel light came on. I think it was probably showing you 13.1 miles not 131. I went another 28 miles after my low fuel light came on, and my fuel count down screen was into the low range. My 2017 didn't have this feature.
The miles to empty adjusts to your estimated mpg I.e. riding style. Also it’s ultra conservative, I’ve had the yellow gas light pop on many times and generally always had about a gallon in reserve.
When the low fuel light comes on you can toggle and see the range left, next toggle is LF which is only available if you have low fuel. LF is suppose to be the miles you have gone since the Low Fuel light came on. You will never be able to go as far as your range says you can. Or at least I have not been able to.

You know, it probably did say 13.1 and advancing. I just didn't look close enough.
And you're right, my previous 17 TK didn't have that feature.
Guess the motor company forgot to mention it in the 2020 owners manual.

That's for dang sure! Or at least it seems that way. Mine usually resets around 230 to 240 miles.
On my recent Iron Butt I used 27.678 gallons over 1052 miles for an average of 38.0085 MPG. At 3k RPM and 80 mph standard cruise it seemed like my mileage was worse than that.
But at 38 MPG x 6 gallons that would be a range of 228 gallons. So guess it's actually pretty accurate.
