Dear CVO users.
One of the main differences to me, was 117 engine not available in other models.
But now the same engine is available in ST versions, so all that extra money is (generally) for appearance, isn't it?
Simple question: is it worth to pay extra for CVO over the ST version of RG/SG?
And why, please.
Only if it's worth it to you. I can't tell you weather or not it's worth it for you. If all you are looking for is engine size then get the ST. You can compare all the other differences online between the bikes. You'd have to decide for yourself if it's worth it to you.
See, I am not asking for someone to decide for me.
I am asking for opinions.
That is my opinion. If all you are looking for is engine size get the ST it's cheaper. If you are looking more for all the differences go on HD's site and compare the bikes. I've never owned an ST, so I personally can't give you an opinion on the difference between the bikes and if I think the CVO price tag is worth it over an ST. I obviously think the CVO price in general was worth it as I own a CVO. That being said, I also bought mine used. (Much cheaper)
I’ve owned several CVO bikes as well as non-CVO bikes. My opinion is if you are planning to do upgrades to the ST, similar to what is on a CVO, the CVO is the better value.
If you plan to keep the bike stock other than maybe exhaust the ST is the better value.
As a cvo owner, I have am older model, 08 road king. I've looked a few times at buying a new bike. In fact I was very close to plunking my money down last month on a new road king standard. It's a very nice bike, rode nice...very smooth. People rave about the m8 107...compared to my bike it was very underwhelming. Granted my motor is not stock but I expected more. Then after I took the test ride I really took a good look at the new bike. Again very underwhelming. To be fair the new bike is really awesome but when compared to a cvo, even an older one it was very plain Jane. So my opinion is the cvo all day, every day. But you have to accept the fact that once you go cvo it's impossible to go back lol...its like dating the hottest 10 you've ever seen and then breaking up. You gotta ask yourself, Dont make me post this on your " i pulled the trigger on a new ST" thread lol
Will you be able to lower your standards and date a 6 or a 7 ever again???
