Not a true statement at all sir!! This discussion is about common sense...
OK, I'm not using you specifically but why do people go out and buy the top of the line pick up truck? Why buy that King Ranch when the regular work truck will do the same thing, right? I drive a Yukon Denali but could have just got a base Tahoe. It's all in what you can afford and what you're willing to spend. I tend to buy a new bike as soon as I get the mods finished on the last new bike. People think that's crazy but it's a hobby and I enjoy it so why would it matter? I'd jump all over a new CVO if they had the colors I liked and be done with it. The price might be high but paying it will not take food off my table so it is what it is.

^^^* now its crickets LMAO! Best summary of the post.
One of the reason I can afford one if I want it. Is I don't often waste cash on silly stuff. I want value for my money in most cases. And CVO offers none of that.
As for holding value. They do not if you ride them.
Then new 2023 RGL has a recycled Honda GW paint job aa 117 engine that is no better than a 114. and over 2 times the cost.
My dealer, which I have purchased 5 CVO's from in the past, wanted my 2021 CVO Ultra, and 24K for an out the door deal on the new CVO anniversary RGL....The only thing that went out the door was ME
This is a lot of why CVO doesn't seem to be a value to me anymore. On trade they no longer hold a great value. The new ones come with so much less stuff.
When I traded my 09 CVO Road Glade for my 12 CVO road glide they gave me 4200 less in trade than I paid for it. In 15 when I traded my 12 for the 15 CVO Road glide ultra, they gave me 4000 less than I paid for it. Got 8 less than I paid for the 15 on the 17CVO, and it keeps going down hill.

I understand your perspective but a Honda owner might wonder why anyone would pay more for a Harley. It's all about what we want and like I said, what we can afford. Not being able to afford does not mean your broke, its just you're not willing to pay that (not you personally).

Dave and I have owned many cvo's over the years, 8 just for me majority bought new. When riders like us start thinking the cvo pricing is out of bounds, then MoCo should probably pay attention. Wont happen though.
Exactly!

I sure can afford it. I just got a Bronco Raptor it play off road.
The value is gone in the CVO, price has gone way up, yet content has gone down. Its on a 14 year old frame.

I can see the Value in my fully loaded corvette, its been redesigned twice since 09. Redesigned in 14 and 20. Price increase of less then 4K. 22 to 23 CVO is 7K price increase.

Sounds like a classic case of sour grapes to me. Ill speak for myself here; I didnt buy a CVO to impress other people, specifically the likes of you. I happen to like the CVOs. I like most all Harleys, V-Rod not so much, but sure as hell wouldnt criticize those that bought one. Obviously, they liked it enough to pay for one. Again, nice bike you have there. I hope youre enjoying the brotherhood. Even if you think some Harleys are silly. Dont hesitate to wave if you see a senseless 23 CVO RG Limited ride by .it just might be a Goldwing.
Some people have the means to spend money on what others think is absurd. Yesterday I saw 2 Lambo SUVs driving together on the 5 FWY at about 35 MPH in traffic. Why spend $250K for an SUV when you can get a Ford explorer for 1/5 the price and it goes just as fast in traffic?
if you don’t want to spend $50K on a CVO don’t. There are plenty of garage queens out there. I got heavily dinged on my ‘17 Limited trade in because it had 45,000 miles.
