flhtcuse7 with 43000 km on the counter.
My mechanic has told me that at the position of 50,000 km the tapets of the pushrods must be replaced, with that adjustable pushrods must also be placed, my question is this normal for a CVO or does my mechanic want to take money out of my pockets ?
Adjustable pushrods are very reusable but if that's the 110" motor, they doubled up springs on the valves and they do stress the lifters pretty badly.
(I wouldn't wait if you guys are talking about it now.)
As a precautionary measure, I replace the inner cam bearings to the full compliment type on every CVO- replaced a few engines/right side cases due to bearing failure. P/N 24018-10, is a set of the good bearings from HD. Lifters have become a wear item over the years- the original TC lifters (-99 & -99A) were OK, the next generation (-99B) were great, then they got cheap and went to an imported lifter that has been known to be noisy, and sometimes fail (-99C).
The best replacements I've found (for the $) are the 2313SE lifters from WFO Larry, about $250 a set shipped to your house.

yes it is the 110 ci ..... maybe if I'm in it I can use another cam as well ... what would be the best for that, all around cams?
