Default Had the most amazing day on my new FXSTSSE2

All,

Picked up my SE Springer (105th colors) from Jones HD in Little Rock at about 10:00 this morning.



I've got to tell you, I've owned seven motorcycles and never been as excited to pick one up. I saw it on the floor four days ago and instantly fell in love. WOW, what a bike this is!

Trailered it to storage very gingerly and went on one of the most exceptional rides I've ever done.

Put about 175 miles on her on a beautiful 65 degree clear Arkansas day, kept it under 4000 RPMs, and worked on bedding in the brakes (still a bit to go, but stopped OK).

This bike is IT. It's heavy, solid, powerful, and visceral.

I had no idea how the springer suspension would be as I have never ridden one. Very pleasantly surprised. It's smooth over the bumps and handles like a dream.

I hated to put the bag over her, but all things come to an end--for now.

One question: my mirrors don't rotate far enough down to see behind me (not that it matters on this baby). Should I loosen the risers and rotate the bars down? They seem a bit high anyway.

Anyway, keep the shiny side up and enjoy the Spring,

The first thing I did when I got home with mine was lower the bars. I am only 5'10" and it was a bit of a stretch to be comfortable and reach them. It solved the mirror issue for me too. Congratulations on your ride!

I had the same prob on the FXDSE. I added the slamed Barebones from LePera and now I see the dust in the rearview just fine! BTW, hve you reached 4000 RPM in 6th? My German mech told me 160KPH (100MPH) and 4000 RPM were the break in limits. Have to say I have been doing 85 on the Autobahns at about 3000 RPM. Gets through the break oin pretty quickly over here in Europe! Enjoy the ride. Your bike is awesome!

A Bourget Dragon? You lead a blessed life! That is a sick sled, dude! We lesser humans love to see bikes like yours on the road where they belong! It must be tough to choose which one to ride, Stevenacnj. Rode my week old SE Dyna in rain and sleet today for a German-American fest with the Wiesbaden-Nassau Chapter of the HOG. Eleven brave soles in leathers braved the weather and stuck it out til the end. No BMWs in sight!

I understand your delight . I got mine on 4/5 as we'll. Picked her up yesterday at 3 pm and put 88 miles on yesterday and another 100 today. Today I pulled the baffles , sounded great. I love this bike and I very impressed with the design and fit and finish.

congrats on new bike have had my 2007 fxstsse a year on may 1st live in florida haven't driven my workcar since Friday before Thanksgiving. I still love to ride mine 10,000 miles andI still get excited everytime I start her up! All riding buddys jealous even the ones who "think" they have a fast Harley almost get off their bike to be sure they are moving. have sert, vnce and hines big radius,dynoed at 90 hp 109tq andthink I could get close to 100 hp with a performance exhaust, worry it might scare me then! LOL have fun andkeep the rubber side down,

I dont know what to tell you about your mirrors.......but if they are bothering you that much, you can always just give the bike to me.

On the real side though.....thats one sweet ride.

Very nice.
I bought the 07 FSXTSSE, installed the AC like yours has, went with the Vance & Hines Big Shot Staggered, SERT and dynoed. I love it.
