Hey guys, new member here from Kansas city that has a small issue ,needs help.I just did my first oil change on my '08 Se dyna .I got the filter off no prob and left the bike to drain out on the jiffy stand for about 6 hours.Filled about three quarts of Royal purple and then ran the bike and checked for leaks .The prob I have is that there seems to be too much oil in the bike .The book says 3.5 quarts for total change inc filter and I have got 3 qts in and it still reads too much .I've checked it cold as well as hot so I drained about a 1/4 quart out to get it to the level.WHY did it not take the 3.5 as the book suggests.Your ideas would be appreciated. Thanks
Sonic ,no I did'nt sit on it to make the bike level.I presumed that cause the drain hole was on the lower side of the engine it would take care of itself.Did I screw up ?
Think so, when I set mine level more oil comes out. Congrads on your new scoot! I think you will fall in love with it. What color did you get? P.S. welcome to the forum.
When I did my first change I put in 3qts. was still to much! I drained close to a 1/2 qt and is on. Book actually says 2.5 for my 08 Low Rider! Only reason I put in 3, was the stealer says it was 3....NOT!
