Engine squeak
Hi all, I have a 2008 FXDSE2 with 3800 miles on it. I'm taking it in tommorrow for the 0906 upgrade and I want them to check out another problem. I hear a "squeaking" from somewhere in the engine while idling. The closest thing I can describe it to is a squeaky fan belt on a car. Not like a squeal, just kinda "squeka-squeka-squeaka" It's not real loud but is noticable when near the bike. I'm not sure if its there while riding because of the exhaust. It's been doing it just about since day one. I took it down when I first got it and they just told me to put some miles on it saying the engine just "might be tight". Well I think 3800 miles is enough riding. Anybody else experience anything like this? The bike runs great except I have that dreaded oil leak from the rear jug right below the exhaust outlet. I'm assuming this is what the gasket fix is for?

It could be the exhaust pipe heat shields squeaking. When I had my Road King it squeaked like that at idle and one of the heat shields was loose. I finally had to get new clamps because the old ones kept coming loose. Just a thought.
