I am experiencing problems with the ride of my New Screamin Eagle Road Glide. It rides worse than a softail and just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this problem or has had it fixed and how.
Put some miles on it and experiement with the shocks a bit , my SG rode rough for the first 1000 miles now it floats ,even with old thunder thighs on behind
Mine is pretty rough also, my wife rode with me the other day and it was killer rough. I havent checked the air in my shocks but just riding by myself I would think it would matter that much. The 09 handles great, but it's stiff.
They all ride very rough. You can play with the shocks, but won't help much. Nature of the beast. Overpriced, poor quality, poor design.

Excuse me? It's the same freaking bike as a classic or ultra. The problem is that the 09's used the HD low shocks and ride like a log wagon. I've had mine ofr 8 years and have ridden over 700 miles in a day with no pain.

Yeh! The Low Profile Touring Shocks aint worth a Crap! The 2001 and 2000 model Scream-n-Eagle Road Glide, didn't *** with the Low Profile Touring Shocks.I was fortunate enough to own the 2001 model, which was my first Scream-n-Eagle!There were no complaints on the way it handled or rode! If I were x-perincing a ruff ride, take it back to the Dealer. Your Shocks mite be bad?I've purchased 2- 2005 Scream-n-Eagle Electra Glides, and the second one I bought really rode like **** after a year!Anyway I traded this year for a 2009 FLTR and am in Love with my Bike once again! The Dealer I traded with, had my Electra Glide sold b/4 it even hit the Showroom floor! Its kind of ironic that I'm hearing this about the ride of a 30,000 plus Motorcycle! As I have had the same x-perience! I was very, very, very, skeptic about buying a 2009 FLTRSE3,although not a better looking bike made in the Touring line for 2009,"I prefer the Orange one" in my opinion, the Low Profile Touring Shocks and a couple of other things like the color of the Motor, and a huge problem with the Radios, I went thru 3 on my second FLHTCSE2, that Harley would not stand behind! I opted for a regular ole Black 2009 FLTR, and made it my own! I would take the Bike back and ask if there were somthing wrong with or was there anything they could do with the Shocks!Like replace them! They could be Bad! The Dealer replaced the shocks on my 2sd FLHTCSE2 for the guy who purchased it from them, and he said " It was fine now".

Mine rides better at the high end of the recommended pressure..
Ok My 2009 serg rides very rough to say the least, more like it bottoms out on every pothole, bump in the road, etc. Ok what can be done about it its no fun gettin banged around and hearing grief from the old lady, I tried different shock pressure and yes its better on the high side 45-50 lbs in the shocks, but still brutle I had them checked several times, yes the shocks suck, has anyone changed them? how about new sesg(2010) rear shock would that work ?would stock shocks fit from say a ultra fit? I know HD has there head in the sand about correcting the problem.
