Default 2009 cvo ultra classic cross threaded spark plug

The rear cylinder spark plug may be cross threaded on my 2009 CVO ultra. The spark plug move about a quarter of a turn and stopped. Rather than take it off, the tech screwed it back on, then called me. Has any one experienced a similar problem with a cross threaded spark plug, or something similar? Appreciate any feedback. Paul

Default over heating

I have a 2010 ultra with 2000 miles and the rear plug seized into the head from heat. When dealer removed plug the head had melted to the plug threads. Service department said it was crossthreaded. ( that is a lie ) update me

Regardless, it's on the dealer.. If they push back, call a lawyer.

I would make sure that you get a replacement new head. They might try to tell you that it's OK or to try to fix it.

and that's the reason i always use anti seize on spark plug threads. damm, that's gotta suck that they are trying to explain the problem away. don't let them helicoil the head.

FWIW.... I have seen thus far, 3 09/10 bikes that the plugs were galled in the heads....

If the plug is removed slowly, and back and forth SLOWLY, the threads can be saved, but the head still needs to be removed for a proper repair...

Seems like the anti-sieze is not being put on correctly, or not at all...

Makes me wonder if the "Lean Manufacturing Process" is being carried a little too far...
