are you talking from the factory? as far as I know they always used to supply new tin, depending of what part is needed, to my knowledge, they wern't repaiing and repainting, but that could have changed in the last year or so. in which case paint was always perfect, as it came new anyhow
I was under the same impression, you can buy the tins pre-painted about a 4-6 week wait, by the way Harley had a big price increase so expect to shell out even more bucks for the Moco line of products

Got hit a couple years back on a Heritage order a painted rear fender from the dealer took 3 months not even a CVO part.
The local paint shop has been repairing CVO's just finished an 04 SERK last week perfect match.
Might want to do some inquiring locally before you wait for Harley
Thanks
Yup still on fence want quality of original have no prob waiting but again like locals to get buisness so we'll see what quote is vs what insurance says could work half and half if needef like fairing from hd and inner done my way local etc
Dropped it off last night for hd quote

I had an accident in April with my Black Pearl RG (non CVO) and Progressive had all the scratched parts repainted...only the front fender was ordered from HD.
The painted stuff was sent out and came back in 2 weeks....looks good to me.
Typically you have to wait until HD paints that color. They run a rotation on the colors that they are spraying. When you get your parts depends on where you are in the rotation. On standard parts typically it's 2-8 weeks. CVO paint I have no idea.
It is my understanding Harley sends out their repaints on tourpacks. I am geting my lower trunk lid repainted as we speak. I was told it will take 28 days.
Yeah they told me cvo parts are sent to vender that uses orig production files to match all the pinstripe etc hand done
Were doing 3 parts from themouter and inner fairings and saddle bag others locally
Correct me I am wrong but I am under the impression that the MoCo will NOT sell their paint to anyone to take to a local painter for a repaint job. Perhaps the Dealers CAN get the paint but only allow THEIR painters to have for jobs THEY send them??
