Default Clutch is too hard, my hand is killing me! Please help!

I am loving my new (to me) 2005 Fatboy Screaming Eagle but I can not handle the hard to pull clutch. I looked on the Harley website but the ez pull kit is not compatible with screaming eagle performance parts. What are my options and what am I looking at as far as cost? Please help me. I'm scared I bought a bike that's going to kill my hand. I have RA and reduced strength in my hands. Thank you in advance for your responses.

The 70T is the ticket. To adjust, just bleed the clutch. 30 minute install. I use it on my CVO's. Wife's ConV uses a 96 Touring spring and the 70T. I can pull her clutch in with my little finger but it still locks up 100%.

Try 'Easy Clutch' as I've heard and read about them. However, I am not able to give you in-depth details. You'd probably want to do some searching in here or google 'em up.

Good Luck,

Thorey

This is great news! I also researched the EZ clutch that deaf ultra mentioned. Mr. Wizard, the EZ looks substantially less expensive than the 70t. It sounds like you've had a lot of experience with this. Is there a good reason to spend the extra dollars to go with the 70t? I do want to make sure I make the right decision. Thanks for the reply.

Since your bike has a 103" motor, according to that website you would need the 84T. I have never used any of them, but just reading the page that is what your bike with the 103" motor would need.

The main difference is where on the clutch spring fingers are contacted. The 70T pushes closer to the center thus less clutch lever pull.

btw... here's my 05 SEFB. The 70T was fantastic on her.

Thank you so much! Did you use your screaming eagle spring with the 70? I ordered it today. My dealership had no clue what I was talking about...hence they were pretty skeptical. Anything I should tell them when they do the install. Nice bike! You've been a great help!

Try lubricating the cable with some dri-slide.

There's no cable on a hydraulic clutch. But if there was that would be an excellent suggestion.

On the SEFB I did. If you change clutch springs you must drain the primary oil and partially remove the primary cover as the spring will not fit through the derby cover hole.

When installing the VPC all you need to do is remove your derby cover, no need to drain the primary. Remove the clutch spring retainer ring and bolts. Replace it with the VPC kit and use the new bolts that come with it. There is a thin star shaped plate that must be bent by hand before installing. The plate fingers must be pointed outward. It literally takes 20 minutes.

To adjust the CVO clutch simply bleed the clutch hydraulic fluid.

All the info on how to do this is on the back of the package but the info is more geared to the cable clutch. The only difference is how you adjust it. It installs the same.

Another note... you see I also ride a trike. Many trike riders don't have much hand strength and can't pull the clutch without discomfort, some not at all. They too have a 103. Some have used the 84T and they are OK with it but the 70T reduces the lever pull more and gives the same results.

There are many more links. It's touch and go when being a Mod here. If I recommend a product then it must be one that I use and trust. Like everyone else, I can't advertise. I can't tell you where to purchase one but I trust this product and use it in all of my bikes and trikes.
