Default CVO Slip-ons

I bought a pair of slip-ons, Part# 65583-11 & 65594-11, that came off a 2011 RG CVO. They had the heat shields on them with slotted tips. When I slipped the shields off, they didn't have the Scream'n Eagle logo on the side of them like I had seen on other slip-ons. Is this something Moco doesn't do anymore? Or is there a difference between CVO and Scream'n Eagle? They are also 3.5 inches Vs. 4 inches. Posted in Touring Section, got no response.

Thanks,

SugsPa

In 2009, the CVO's used a 4" can and they didn't have screaming eagle embossed on the pipes. Not sure if they used 4" cans before the 2008 CVO models.

As far as Screaming Eagle pipes of yester years, they use to make a really good pipe, I think around 2003 or 2004. Those pipes were really good and good preformance as well.

May I suggest that you swap out the baffles in the 4" cans and install a fulsac preformance baffle. (choice of 1.75", 2" and 2.25" baffles.) The bigger the baffle, the louder they are. Just beaware that within time these baffles will get louder. Great sound and preformance for only $119 to $129, pending which ones you choose.

Those 4" cans look really good on a touring bike but the stock baffles are really a big joke. Very resticted and sound is not what a Harley should sound like.

Good Luck and Ride Safe!

Yellowbird, Thanks for the info. I really like the looks of the pipes, but they are a little quiet. I will look into the fulsac performance baffles. Thanks again.

I have a 2011 CVO RG Ultra (FLTRUSE). Came stock w/4" can. No Screaming Eagle on them anywhere. Played around and removed baffle pulled packing and put stock baffle back in. Little louder, still sounded like a washing machine. I was tired of playing so I purchased the 2.25" Rush Big Louie, a 4" slip on. With coupon found on the net. was $324 w/free ship from LeatherUp.com. You can use your stock end cap. I had removed the cat from the stock header and I'm running the Cobra Fi2000. Bike runs and sounds great.

I was told that, on at least my model, that I would have to do some cutting to get the baffles out. Is this the case and how difficult is it? I did my Sporty in about 30 minutes, no drilling, cutting or heating required.

Take a dremel tool and cut the welds inside the end of the muffler and with some work the baffle will come out. Modify the baffle or replace with ful-sac baffle.

I'm using 2009 4" CVO tailpipes with Fulsac 2.25" baffles. They have a nice deep rumble and I've been told they sound like Rineharts. It's recommended that you keep the baffles wrapped to prevent a "tinny" sound.

I'm thinking Big City Thunder baffles from past experience. Any clue as to comparison?

Also, how does the baffle secure to the muffler, does it need to be welded?

Big Cith Thunder does not maike a baffle for the 4" CVO mufflers. You would need to gut the muffler and install the Big City Thunder part in the back of the headpipe just before it connects to the muffler.

As far as how the Fullsac baffle is secured, you drill one hole in the underside of the muffler and it secures the baffle with an allen bolt.
