Brought this home today. 2012 Road Glide CVO. HD calls the color maple but I would call it root beer. Fine gold metal flake in it and some ghost flames. It went down the assembly line just 4 weeks ago.
Several others and a dealer wanted it but I was on hold with it until the dealer decided if he wanted to swap it for my 08 low miles Vette. He did and it came home with me.
Looked at it close in the garage and the fit and finish is great. I will start this weeked to run it up to 1K as soon as pollible. The dealer threw in the 1K on the trade.
Only road 20 miles home at 50 mph but the seat seems to be more comfortable than my others.
I collect HD's so I have at least one of each family and two touring models. this is my first CVO and that should complete the collection.
I was at Reimans today and asked Pat were the CVO Road Glide went and he told me about trading it for Vette. I bought a CVO ultra there two months ago. I really like the bike but need to do something about the heat in exhaust.Hutch
I am amazed at the mpg. 1st tank just over 48, second tank over 49 and the third tank was over 50. The fourth tank was an even 50 mpg. 850 miles in 5 days of local riding in 100 degree weather but I want to get the 1K done Sat. which Reiman's throws in with a new bike. It is scheduled so that gives me tomorrow and Fri to get another 150 or more miles.
It's a dirty job but someone has to do it.
No noticeable problem with engine heat. It did go into the mode that cuts the rear cylinder off when I was in a traffic jam in Galesburg yesterday but I was soon out of town.
There is a town that has 91 octane without alcohol and on its own hose that I have been filling up at. Today the non E10 91 octane jumped $0.20/gal. Those &#$%*@.
