I purchased a 2013 CVO Ultra this weekend, finally liked some of the colors so traded in my 05 ultra. The bike shipped from the factory on 8/24 should be here in a week or so.
My question: on my 05 I've had the power commander and was happy with it. After some minor engine work I went with the SE race tuner and dyno time. My budy has a 2011 street glide and went with Fuelmoto's jackpot's, ceramic header and Power Commander 5. So he removed the 02 sensors.
I just spoke to Fuel Moto and they suggest the Jackpost, ceramic coated header and Power Vision. They said they'd of course load a map that I'll flash to the bike. They also said the 02 sensors will move from my CVO exhast to the Jackpots.
What do you folks think of this setup? I'm not looking for power, just to cool the bike down. I'm happy with the sound and look of this exhaust on my friends bike.
I have the very setup on my 12' CVO SG minus Jackpots and use Fullsac baffles instead. Works very well and I am pleased with the results. And I have also used Jackpots in the past and really liked them. So I would think that setup would work very well together. Jamie and the boys at FM know what they are doing. They are pushing PV because it's the latest and greatest thing from Dynovision. It's pretty cool. It doesn't piggyback like a PC does. It reflashes your ECM with a program and your bike runs off that program. Then you can disconnect it and run happy like that or you can run the wire to your handlebars and mount the unit and it does all sorts of thing neat things. You can even program it with several different programs and change them on the fly if you want. But know this: once you "marry" the PV unit to your bike you cannot use it again on another bike should you ever sell your bike. It reads your VIN and locks it in. Now of course Dynojet will sell you an unlock license for another bike that is half the price of what a new unit cost. I actually went that route when I bought my CVO after having the PV on previous bike. Again, choices to make as always...
My favorite is the Typhoon Red and the second is the Tribal Orange.
One local dealer near me is supposed to have a Typhoon Red this week while the dealer where I usually buy my bikes won't have one until October (maybe) and it is supposed to be the silver one which I don't care for.
Fuel Moto has you headed in the right direction. Not only will it cool the bike, it'll make it run more crisp like it should.
Dyno Jet make both the Power Commander and the Power Vision. I wouldn't give a dime for every PC made but the new Power Vision is a nice piece.
Fullsak offers a nice setup for the CVO bikes and they use the TTS tuner. Not sure if TTS has their new programmer on the market yet but it's supposed to be even better than their current tuner which works great.
Thanks - I picked the Tribal Orange, second choice was the Typhoon. I didn't like the light color or the 110 anniversary color. I haven't seen the colors in person but the sales manager is giving me the option of backing out or doing his best to get me another CVO Ultra if I hate the Tribal. It shipped on Friday Aug 24, my dealer is located in RI so not sure when it will arrive. I wanted something different than black (my current bike).
New question for you guys. On my 05 Ultra I've lowered the bike an inch with Progressive 940's in the rear and progressive monotubes lowered an inch in the front. I assume the CVO has the normal HD shocks so I'm going to put my 940's on the CVO - I notice that HD has a lowering fork insert for the front, would you folks suggest HD's or progressive?
Just bought it. Less than 300 miles to date. After factory warrenty runs out will be looking to do some up dates. Ive had a PC 5 with auto tune on a 09 RK Standard. My only problem was the dealer wanted to blame everything on the PC. When I traded it in 2010 for a 103 Ultra Limited I opted for a 110 map from Harley. It worked OK, and cooled the bike.
See Pic below. Is this Tribal Orange? I love the paint job. Get lots of comments on it. That orange is loaded with gold metal flake.
