Since I'm replacing the pipes because of a defect I'm thinking why not go all the way. I'm looking at the Bassani 2 into 1 Short Megaphone. I've had a Bassani header before and loved it. Going with the 2 into 1 for the increase in performance over the 2 into 2. I was wondering if any of you folks have experience with any other headers and would recommend one over another?
Put the order in for the Bassani Road Rage 2 into 1 Short header. After a good dozen hours of searching for the best price I got them at Indysuperbike.com for $551 total. Shipping is free. Now I'm off in search of a tuner.
The reason for the lack of responses was most members don't have a CVO and the ones that do don't have the type exhaust you were asking about.
Unless it is strictly CVO related you would be better off asking your questions in the main forum.
Good luck,
Tom
The Bassani Road Rage 2 into 1 Short Megaphone header is on. The sound is incredible. The deep, low rumble makes me mentally "erect". It may be just a butt hair too loud. Or maybe I'm just used to the stock lack of sound. I haven't had the chance to open it up yet and see what kind of performance gain if any that it made. I went with the SE Pro Super Tuner and need to get it dyno'd to get the most out of it.
Hey, I just had the Bassani Pro-Street Turn Outs and a S.E. Pro Super Tuner installed today and dyno tuned. My service writer called me this evening and said I would be very pleased when I pick it up as it sounds bad to the bone and posted some real nice numbers on the dyno. I've never had Bassani's before so I hope they sound good and I know they're triple-stepped design helps them make good power so we'll see.
SmokeEm, share those numbers with us when you get a chance.
I just got mine Dyno tuned today. Wish I was smart enough to get the numbers prior to putting the header on. Live and learn. According to HD the stock torque number is 112.1. The new number is 119.93. There is a noticeable increase in pulling once it hits 3000 rpms. Max HP is 99.23. Would have loved to hit 100 just to say it.
After all is said and done I'm very happy with things. Don't expect to do many more changes until after the factory warranty is up. Then who knows.
Those are some strong numbers, benefits of 2:1 exhaust I suppose. Keep in mind that the torque that H-D puts on the website is at the crank, not at the rear wheel. Anyway, here's my dyno sheet... Max Power: 95.18 / Max Torque: 112.67

I have the same bike, same color, same exhausts (blaze orange Breakout with Bassani ProStreet Turnouts) and not even close with my dyno tune! Wonder why.
