Well I inherited a 1969 Shovelhead on a 71 SuperGlide frame. My dad had someone redo alot of the items on it but when I went to go pick it up, he forgot that he left a half a tank of gas in the tank!!! YEAH!! I KNOW! W
Well after talking with several knowledgable people, I used the Kreem method on the gas tank. Looks like it did the trick.
They also suggested to clean the carb. It has a S&S Shorty on it.
Would like other suggestions to make sure everything is ok before I start it up.
Looking forward to talking with everyone on here!!
Dissassemble the carb and spray all the little holes out with carb cleaner. Try not to soak plastic parts. Pay attention to the jets, most of your problems will be varnish blocking those holes.
