Default Restoring a '80 Sturgis

Ok, freshly painted tanks... should I used teflon tape on the threads when I install the new fuel filter/petcock assembly?

Clean the paint off the threads if they got painted or you will probably cross thread it and yes at least thread tape.

Evening All, back again... putting new freshly painted front fender on. Pulled the front tire off, now the speedo assembly just spins. WTF did I do wrong?

There is an FXB specific parts book that is only a few pages long, as an addition to the standard FX parts list.

Is the inner cable engaged fully in the speedometer head?
Btw, I've always loved the look of the '80 Sturgis from the blacked out dash to the redline rims. Such a cool and relatively rare machine.
