Default Clutch dome suggestions?

Am thinking of putting a clutch dome on my scoot before I get my pants ripped off, but have a couple questions. I was told when adjusting the springs you measure to the back 31/32, but when replacing with a clutch dome how would you get you measurement? I know that I am probably over thinking this but just want to make sure I do this right the first time.
Should I even put the clutch dome on?

did a lot of googling and figured out how to "sandwich" the pressure plates and get my spring tension set correctly.

should have researched a bit longer before starting this thread.

With the stock style aluminum pressure plate I run the nuts down till I see 2-1/2 or 3 threads showing on the studs average and I run a healthy motor with no issues. Main thing is adjust each stud so the plate moves evenly all round, the threads showing will vary due to spring tension differences, if you find it's really off pull it and move the springs around to even out the pressure on them.

M problem was that I was wanting to use acorn nuts, cant count the treads.....so I run down the nuts to where I am assuming they are close to 2-12 to 3 treads. but I tried different locking washers to try and keep the nuts backing of. tried a standard lock washer it backed up within 3 miles, so I decided to go with bite washers, they back out as well.
so now I wen with the following

whit that lock tap I can run acorn nuts and not have to worry about them backing out anymore.

Nice lock tabs , we just counted turn's on a regular nut the added a couple turn's to get thread count right & tension adjusted then loctited them.
