Should spin with very little effort. Time to split the cases..... Have you opened up the cam chest yet? your problem could lye in there....
One of the flywheel bearing gave it up, something gets loose in the cam chest it will snap the end off the pinion shaft at the first shoulder. Cam cover is coming off anyway so we'll see shortly.
9/16 box end wrench and some heat from a torch make it once and you'll always have it. 80 in timing marks on some models are backwards. Some use the dot some the lines. My 80 80 is that way.
...jugs wont come off!!!!!!!!! Pistons and base of jugs soaking in break-free now! Trying to get clutch hub off also but tire keeps spinning using socket with long ratchet (ya im turning nut to the right!),,,can or should i use a impact on it? update - i got the rear head off yay with motor still in!!! Probly by using alitttle more force that i shoulda and scratched some stuff but it was tight see pix... But i was wrong about the piston being up , that was just the lip of the jug.
Pistons down like the other one, not exact same postions but close, looks the same as the other just the scratches on top are from me trying to push it down with a screwdriver...
I only know, i thought it was up but im not sure anymore, if its down from me pushing on it i did not feel it go down!

If you have been following this thread from beginning, you might see it differently. The guy has come to this forum for good information, and so far has demonstrated a solid basic mechanical capasity to determine his engine problem. A verbal beat down is just not real helpful IMO.
the paper gasket on some engine welds its self to the jug and block and you wont with your hands brake the thing free - had a young guy wanting to prove me wrong -- well his palm was beading when i used the plastic dead blow twice
i hate to say this but -- its a shovel -- a good size plastic dead blow hammer - rubber could work - but plastic dead blow is the ticket --- BUT did i say BUT you cant hit it to hard side to side ----- it will tear the paper gasket in half letting you remove the jug
the pain in the a$$ is removing the welded paper
caution Not to hard just enough back and forth and it will release and no nuts still at the base up on the threads and brake the washers free as well first
