It looks ugly. It took me a minute to figure out the pics, but looks like a rod broke, got hung on the case, turned into spaghetti and gouged big chunks out of the case.
A buddy of mine had a similar problem and it turned out to be a bolt holding the rear hub came out and hit the frame. You never know but start with the easy stuff first.
...i dont know what to do... I'll holla when i make a move! I think for what i'd pay anybody here to fix it i could get a complete bike offa Egay shipped here!!! 7% tax bringing vehicles with title here vs. 19% for parts.
SO WHAT COULDA BEEN THE CAUSE? ...wasnt riding fast like maybe 40mph tops, just cruisin, whats a high rpm for a shovel? What rpm do you usually shift? its just when the noise started in a panic i kept going hoping to make it home...shoulda called a tow truck, live and learn!
when you look in the oil pump you will see its packed with metal debris, the pistons had lost the ability to create enough vacuum to pull the oil up into the cylinders, and as time goes in its just gets worse to the point no oil is being pulled up and into the cylinders
having =said that you have a good amount of throw off from the rods and the flywheels and that is the spot the oil pump being able keep up comes in -- if its lean from being clogged it will destroy the engine
fixable yes - replacement S&S is more money then another bike would be and no one wants to buy a stock motor SO your trans - clutch - primary drive - wheels / sprockets ALL come into play -- sell that one get another one you will come out ahead
