nothing happening when i hit the start button on my 82 FXWG.
looks as though all the connections are ok. i get 12 volts to the relay when i push the button, but no juice coming out. i bought a new relay and have the same results. i'm wondering if this could be the solenoid? can i put a jumper from the battery to the (center post, the one that comes from the relay) wire on the solenoid to see if it turns it over?
Your fine it'll die on it's own and congrats of finding the trouble. Word of advice on shovels and your issue , check and clean ALL the cable connections and the frame ground in particular. Half or better the elec. problems I see come back to grounding issues or bad crimps.
