Default How do you remove engine primary shaft extension?

My manual had a brain fart. The HD manual under, "inner primary removal" says to refer to section on compensating sprocket removal to remove compensating sprocket. Only, they dont tell you how to remove this:

Course, I could be the one having the brain fart. Maybe it says how, but I sure couldn't find it. I'm guessing just about any puller that would fit would work, but just checking.

The mickey-mouse isn't my doing. Bike came complete with missing inner primary mounting bolt (no, it wasn't rattling around in the primary either.) And the hose block-off...pure rat-bike!

Default Here's how I did it.

The compensator shaft should be torqued to at least 100 ft.#'s. It's on there. After I took off the inner primary, I took a bearing separator, drilled a couple holes in some bar stock and, voila!

Here's the only funk: take the largest socket that fits inside the shaft, put the drive end to the motor shaft. You need a socket that sticks out a 1/2-inch or so. That's what you push against.

Heres the setup:

Remember or take pictures as it comes apart so you know where any shims go back in if it comes down any farther.

The clam shell puller with a tee bar adapter and you push against the end of the crankshaft in the dimple or as has been posted . I have those chip when guys tried pry bars or chisels to work them out with so heads up.

No shims. I pulled the rotor and ordered a 32 amp system today no shims on rotor, either. I took pics of everything as it came apart. I'll check the offsets and alignment when it goes back together. Manual says how to do it. As always, thanks.
