I just picked up a Brown 1980 FXWG with very low miles. The color is brown and the seat is brown. Does anyone know if the brown seat was stock? I had a 1980 FXWG that was blue that had the black seat. I did check Dodge City HD parts finder and see that a brown seat is available. Just don't know it a brown seat is stock

I'm pretty sure they would have came both ways. I know of a couple brown 80 FLT's, and they came stock with brown seats. I would say it's the correct seat. The AMCA judge would have a tough time proving it wasn't, especially since it's listed in the parts book.
I had a long standing search on cycle trader for this bike. The person that sold it to me is the grandson of the original owner. The original owner only put 7500 miles on it and it's been in storage ever since. The original owner passed away and had 8 motorcycle in his collection. The grandson inherited the collection and was selling the bikes off. It is hard to find this year and model with all of the original parts. I have the original carburetor and airbox for it. I has the S&S carburetor on it now. Going to switch it out. Only thing that is missing is the fork mounted turn signals. I already found those on line. I will send updated pics when it done.
My ironhead was brown with a brown seat when I bought it. I didn't buy it new so no telling but I'm pretty sure the original color was brown. A buddy of mine has a 79 electraglide that's brown as well. I can't remember the color of the seat on his.
