Still... I would like to see some Iron Heads in the shovel configuration... Those who really know... know that Nothing sounds like an all iron Harley... be it Sporty or Knuck even... easy to make an Evo sound even better than a Shovel... put Iron cylinders on it... Got some right hear and I can prove that!! But. here we go Racing again!!!!!

Sounding better is subjective. Im happy with my shovels and both sound different than each other. I like the sound of the 66 for the gear noise vs the cone but Im curious to hear my fresh rebuild on the cone with compression and a cam.

Compression makes a very noticeable difference...
My Sons Ironhead with drag pipes sounds Lame, next to mine with some Compression thru "glass packs"...
My 93" shovel runs 215psi cold compression per hole and a S&S 600 cam, serious head turner at an idle. Just blip the wick I set off car alarms a 1/2 block away.
nothing in the world I ever heard sounded like Pete Hills knucklehead Top fueler back in the day - he has many films on the tube but a lap top speakers cant handle the sound as they stop working when he bips the throttle
we had over the years end up being parked next to him - hated it like to make you jump when he hit it - everyone went to the fences when it went down the track

Pitted Next to Pete ourselves a couple times... back in that Day..That equipment has had it's day now, ya oughta stand next to one of Romine or Turners Fuelers now...
But, they don't have the Tone of an all Iron Engine... plenty of Noise tho!!! And they shake yerr ***** right outa the Sack too.....

Old Jack Barnes in Missouri had a regular hill climb on his place a few times year, his signature was a 47 83" knuck that got your attention when he lit that beast off launching the hill for the first run of the day. Crazy old goat was still doing it into his 70 and he never not made the top.
really dont care what they do now or in the future - eddie knight from jersey had a 2 engine iron head fueler raced at Englishtown many times held the record for a time
that's the sound I want to remember not the fake **** they race today like pro stock
and V&H cheated everyone back in the day - but the jersey boys knew what they were doing and like jersey boys let them its not our business
hydrogen propylene was what they used in the fuel is what was said don't know for sure -- But after a race they never went to get him at the end of the track like we all did
as it need time to evaporate so it did not show up in the fuel check -- pro classes got plenty of time between round not like us who were round robin - so it played into the scam
