really dont care what they do now or in the future - eddie knight from jersey had a 2 engine iron head fueler raced at Englishtown many times held the record for a time
that's the sound I want to remember not the fake **** they race today like pro stock
and V&H cheated everyone back in the day - but the jersey boys knew what they were doing and like jersey boys let them its not our business
hydrogen propylene was what they used in the fuel is what was said don't know for sure -- But after a race they never went to get him at the end of the track like we all did
as it need time to evaporate so it did not show up in the fuel check -- pro classes got plenty of time between round not like us who were round robin - so it played into the scam
Fake????
234MPH in a standing start Quarter????
Right!!!!!!
But, NHRA Pro Stock is something all together different... I do Not care for it.. Even tho my last class racing for points, was "Harley" Pro Stock
Only thing Fake on this old girl was the Headlight.....Wanna Race????
Old Jack Barnes in Missouri had a regular hill climb on his place a few times year, his signature was a 47 83" knuck that got your attention when he lit that beast off launching the hill for the first run of the day. Crazy old goat was still doing it into his 70 and he never not made the top.
Not a lot, met him in passing a few times whenever we went out to the hill climbs, he owned the place. Had a colorful history and was real character once you got him talking, old boy was hard as nails. This was back in the late 70's, early 80's.

I had met him in the early 90s at Dougs choppers bike show, I was 10, he gave me an autographed flyer. Ive been asking around for awhile now trying to find info and locate his bike.

I heard that knuckle made into a museum somewhere back east, no clue where.
