I bought a shovelhead motor it has ss cases and cast iron heads my other shovel motor on my 1975 FLH has aluminum heads whats the deal on cast iron heads?

I dont know how to take pics but they were bolted to shovel cylinders so will other heads bolt up?

your right they were just pa inted over thanks i thought they were aluminum.

I guess I'm confused... they are Aluminum after all??

if Painted aluminum... were they painted, Black? Wrinkle? or that Odd aluminum like color of the late '70's and early '80's

black paint on aluminum they just feel heavy.
