Is that rim bent at the top?

Yes, it's bent. I think I should be able to straighten it.

Not too big of a deal...especially if [after dismounting the tire] you find the Bead area is still OK... in which case it is simply cosmetic.

Re: bent rim. You might think about looking for a shop that can straighten that rim and make it “true” again. In my area there’s a shop called Pico Wheel Service, outside of Fresno, CA. They do a nice job making them run straight again. Doesn’t require breaking the rim down either..just can’t have the tire on it.

Actually, anyone who can lace and true a spoked wheel can accomplish what ya say... If [big Word] If they can in fact get the rim squared away... I would not remove rim from spokes unless absolutely necessary... and if it was... May as well replace said rim!!!
