hey all, I have an 83 fxrs and was wondering if it was heard of for Harley to put these enclosed chain systems on a fxrs. Thanks for any advice you have on this
the primary would need to be a FLT and because if the clearance issues related to the enclosed box affair - also your front gear is only 22 teeth - this will play havoc with the gearing getting it right and the chain speed will be too fast this is not an idea that in the end will work
My FXRS is Not enclosed... but... I suspect that like John says... with the proper Primary it could be... tho the Primary is Not the Biggest concern... you require the appropriate rear wheel for the Enclosed system as well...
If it was simple...and I did Not need to use that Turbine wheel... I would have it...as the FLHT that I had was so equipped...and I really Liked it...

so what you’re saying is that the system was put on the bike?? It has been on there since 91 that I know of for sure, via pics. It has had the same chain since 86 I do know that much and I have never even had a leak except for the plastic plug on bottom but that was from powder coating getting on threads.....but I am very interested by what you said about chain speed? I was just trying to gain more knowledge on that and what it can cause it to go wrong?

yes racepres I do really like it but I guess I was just wondering why my pop would have had it put on if at the time everybody was taking them off. That’s why I asked if Harley ever did this from the factory. But I remember telling me always that when he got it in 86 that it was already on there and he hasent had a single problem besides getting someone to change the back tire
