Wow! Your FXDG looks so sweet, a beauty! I have a pic of the speedo and some other shots. I can't recall the emblem on the rear. I bet its not there with the repaint. I'll try and remember to look. I'll be there today to pick up my shovel, had an OEM On/Off switch wired into the new harness. No matter where they say the replacement harness was made/assembled the switches are crap. Thanks to panz4ever for the switch bits he sent me last year! I'll also be there Sunday 9/18 for the customer appreciation day and bike show. I'm entering my shovel. There is another shovel for sale that looks like a runner. Problem is it is so personalized and way over done. That owner's club rocker shows on the dash panel. The clubhouse is just down the street. Old club, old guys, there's one I talk to at the Brass Horse roadhouse on most Sundays, Live electric blues @3:30 is a huge draw and the place is welcoming to all. I'll have to ask him about the bike. Maybe start a thread to see the comments about the eye candy all over it. Next weekend it's Chris Toefield for free Friday & Saturday evening and Sunday @3:30. Look him up. https://www.google.com/search?client...UTF-8&oe=UTF-8
Is this the correct speedo? wet, oily. Mileage can't be right. Bike has been messed with too much. d
I dont think mine has that crinkly orange peel like finish on engine parts and speedo cover: the paint on mine is all smooth there. Looks like a rattle can job on this bike.

Had a closer look at mine, the paint on the motor is indeed smooth, more importantly it also has the light metallic flake that the tins have.
Saw it again yesterday. Everything negative that's been mentioned and more up close. It screams - I've been molested -. Add in No rear emblem as I understand they are $$$'s. Big Pass if it was model I wanted. At 5K maybe with it's scarcity, but I'd have it torn down and completely redone - adding big bucks. My red shovel was a find, my goal was to get it completely redone and on the road for less than the cheapest current big twin. 2022 Softail standard at $13949 before dealer fleecing fees & tax 6.35% here. That's $14855.68, I certainly did beat that number.
Ytcoinshooter,
thanks for the extra photos, do you know if Doc's did the Paint work on this DG ? who ever did it sure did not do it right ! to bad cause who ever buy's this machine will have to spend a small fortune to do it right ! not impossible but very costly & labor intensive , & with the asking price of 18K i know of at least 2 others with OEM original paint & 1 with both sissy bar & handle bar pouches & rear Fender Medallion ! for under 15 k !

No - Docs didnt do anything but take that bike in as is. How much they checked it out Id have to ask. I can post another shovel they took in as is. Ican ask the next time Im in. They are a really good shop for old iron since 1969, euro and Asian marques too. Theyve done all kinds of antique restorations and updated resurrections. Bought my first parts there over 40 years ago.
This shovel is way over the top too personalized as - they took it in. This bike is way over done. Though it is all old style ugly of cool depending on your taste.

Mike hopes to do the wiring harness this weekend (10.01.2022) cool bike hey !?!?
