shovelhead acting up
I have a 76 fxe stroked to 84in with a s/s 517 cam and I;m running points. While riding the other day it just died so I popped the distributor cap; and I had no spark at the points. So I switched coil {Andrews coil} and rode it `the rest of the day. While riding yesterday 100 or so miles on my home it started acting up again if I if I gave it to much gas it would pop and want to die. In 4th gear I could run maybe 35 to 40 mph; any faster it would start missing and popping. At the stop sign I had to keep the idle high to keep it from dying. I changed coil again this morning for short ride around town started to do again so I brought it home. The points and condenser are new.I run the coil and ignition switch between the cylinders off of the motor mount. The coil I took off I put it in another one of my bikes and it ran perfect. This has got me stumped. any suggestions???
