Interesting how things go sometimes. My 76 FLH started putting out a little white smoke from the rear cylinder in about 99 when stopped. A few years later a little bit from the front when stopped. Motor is still running good about 50,000 miles later. Just came back from a ride today and folks told me how much they liked the sound, they never talked about the smoke. I have two other bikes that I ride in rotation but I still feel most at home on this old smoker. It's amazing how far these motors will go if built right.

That may very well be the difference John. I remember guys constantly tearing their engines down chasing every little strange sound and puff of smoke. Seemed like they were always having problems, even on the early Evos. I remember one guy telling me years ago that my motor was about to blow. Funny thing is he snapped his belt a few days later. Riding style may just be the difference.

I can't afford to chase every little weird sound and leak. If it ain't dangerous or running bad I'm gonna leave it the heck alone.

Honda bond (I’m not kidding) and Yama bond same thing. Used for sealing crankcase halves without a gasket on those bikes. Make sure to get #4

Tin seals and or the incorrect travel for the valve springs - camshaft install - many read fits all stock engines YEA that is true but the spring spacing has to be adjusted and they for go telling you that - but in a shop that not selling f housework underware we check and adjust the springs travel with the seal installed and you want at least .060 at full lift - bottom of the top retainer to the top of the seal including the camshaft lift say .450 + .060 = .510
