Default Another would you trade thread
A real good buddy of mine has too many shovels and wants some of my guns. The bike is a 79 FXE numbers match and runs but looks to be far from stock. I believe the guy he got it from wanted it to be a WG. What do you guys think of the bike?

Other than the color making me want to vomit...not too bad looking (shape). Does it run, how many miles & how many guns does he want for it?

Your question is too vague - do you like what you see if so what the mechanical end of it becomes the question

take it for a 1/2 hour ride - stop put 5 bucks of gas in it see how it starts and behaves

right off the bat they dont stop well enough for todays soccer moms on the phone whip will pay no attention to you

Irish hills green With green flames - you need to sleep on that idea - if its U then have at it

Ya, the color would be gone quick. I’ve got a good painter so no issue there. The bike does run but needs to be jumped at the solenoid. $3-3500 in guns. But, guns are going up in value.

As far as brakes go I ride my 73 Ironhead a lot. I understand crap brakes. Doesnt mean I like them tho.

I put this back together last year.

if you use a later road king master cylinder

(2017 11/16'' piston) & braided hoses the stock callipers work reasonably, but I just changed mine out for two, 4 piston GMA callipers that stop it like a modern jap sports bike, worth doing if ya not a Rivet counter & want a safer bike for todays roads

if ya look at new harleys in the $30k range building a Shovel is far cheaper & a better bike at the end of the day in my book
