the feed & return I take underneath & find it cleans it up as you hardly see the oil lines,
the oil pressure switch I fitted on the top of the tappet feed screen hole on the top of the cases so no problems there.... all in all a great bit of kit to keep ya oil clean.

looks great and really clean,

you have the primary blocked off and not the stock setup I’m guessing?
I like your controls

RUNNING AN OPEN 3'' kARATA BELT SO NO PRIMARY OIL, THE FORWARDS WERE MADE BY 'THUNDERHEART' IN CALIFORNIA FOR THE 'GILROY'INDIAN SCOUTS, ya can find them now and again on ebay or hit up the 2000ish gilroy indian parts people, the shifter & brake lever pivot poins being the same axis as the footpeg, gives great readily available brake & shifter without having to lift ya leg & do an acrobatic move every time ya wanna stop or change gear !! hahahahaha....bolr straight on a 4 speed frame type peg/motormount 2R x3L bolt hole patern,... but the Oil Filter pump cover BROSG sell ,...well ,the damn Factory should have come up with 50+ years ago, , so simple but is great ....recommend them to any & all shovels

This! Get some Barnett wet or dry clutch discs seal off the chain oiler and return line and just run a little ATF in the case to lube the chain.

That's another thing I'd get rid of,get a good quality o-ring chain with new sprockets and hit it with a quality modern chain lube once in a while.
Use a little brake clean on a rag to wipe it down clean with before a fresh lube job.
Far less messy and will last longer plus you won't be using up engine oil.
While we're at it if you still have a crankcase breather hose connected to your airbox take if off plug the hole in the airbox and put a cheap breather filter on the end of the hose then zip tie it down under the frame somewhere.
You'll use less oil and won't have it dripping off the airbox on your motor.

Big thanks to all! Great information here!! Figured I should give an update. (and yes, the rear oiler had been blocked off already)

The more I work on the bike, the more I don't trust the previous owner. Decided to dig into the oil pump. Both sides of the body and all 4 gears are scored pretty bad. Looks like both keys went through the pump at one time. Explains the frothy oil? New OEM style pump on the way as I really don't want to drill the case.

Digging into the oil pump was the perfect excuse to replace all the hoses. My buddy also wanted to isolate the primary so, that's where we are now. And add an oil cooler.

So off comes the inner primary again. Yes could have just plugged hoses but last time I put the inner on, I had the clamp on the return line facing the wrong way and it got smashed against the frame. In tearing the clutch apart, I realized there was no clutch hub bearing retainer plate. Also found the sprocket shaft seal was backwards under the flywheel. Spacer was grooved so the last guy just flipped the seal. Did I mention I don't trust the last guy??

I know there's way too many questions regarding how much ATF/oil to put in a sealed primary. The most common answer I see is just enough to kiss the starter gear when the bike is level. This one is kick only, no teeth on the basket. Assuming need enough to hit the basket and go with wet/dry clutches?

Thanks guys!

TC

having the motor's sprocket shaft seal the wrong way round is actually desirable if ya running a belt !!,
as it then stops the small dribble of oil that comes out there when ya running an enclosed chain,
ya don't want that with an open belt so either way nothing much to worry about....
but it does make ya wonder of the last owners skills !
