Default Shaker floorboards FLH

Right then, I've fitted a new chain and sprockets to my '79 FLH to reduce vibration and aid in comfort on long hauls.

I am now running 24 front and 48 rear if I'm not mistaken, and that helps a lot with vibration around 60/70 mph.

The only place where it still feels annoyingly vibey is in the floorboards.

So, does anyone have experience with the shaker floorboards on a Shovelhead?

Noticable improvement or waste of money?

They work but the engine balance is a bit off

we have taken the handle bars and filled them with the tool rubber that you dip a plyers into for electrical use - as it iso some of the vibes

cork one end and fill put in the sunlight not to the end as it does expand some drying

I don't feel vibrations in the handlebars though, only the floorboards....

What foot boards are you running now? Older D shaped boards do not have the vibration isolation that came out in the early or mid 70's. Pics would help, good luck.

Those are the later style D shaped board. Yes they will reduce the amount of vibration you feel VS the older boards.

Isn't that what he's looking for ('79)?
