inside of your primary will get trashed ALWAYS stick with a 23 on the tranny. If you have a stroker maybe think about a 46 or 47T rear gear. If its a 74 or 80 inch even with cam and maybe a little extra compression try to go 49. If its a bar hopper go 51T

as said.. I only like a 23 on the tranny. Too many issues using 22 or 24. With a stock motor a 49 is about all Id go down in revs. You need more power to go 48-45. Raising rd stir more pep a 51 is about as high as Id recommend. You do t wannabe 4000rpm at 55 mph

mine had a 23-47 at first and when my hd mech had the inner primary off said to change to a 22-49 but i cant remember why. i think it was about same speed less revs
