Well congrats on the project, there's a lot of knowledge in this forum when it comes to the old bikes. We span it all from dedicated correct OEM guys to those of us more than familiar with the endless aftermarket adaptations for them.
And yeah some pics of the present carnage is a good start, every forum need a good crate pile picture to kick off a new long running thread.
I got the frame VIN# today
2C = FX1200?!? Production number 68xxx H3 = 1973?!?
So correct me if Im wrong but I have a Super Glide?? Not an FLH at all? Damm, who knew.
Does this change my end goal? Does an FX frame have the same geometry as the FX? Extended fork compared to an FLH?
Peanut or twin tanks?
Sheesh, now Im confused
No discs, FLH tin , 16 wheels
Gotta dig out the swingarm.
More questions than answers at this point.
Is my Throttle Addiction decoder page even correct?

Hmmm Lol
Sounds like you're correct, 73 Superglide and its free!
Cool pic. Yes, it started life as a 73 FX model. From the pic it has been converted to a custom build FLH model. The good news is that the frame for FX and FLH models in 1973 were exactly try the same.
I officially took on the project today, a gentlemans handshake with my friend. He has the title! Lol
Just a word of caution here. I know you state that he is your friend and that you have a gentleman's agreement, but he has the title, not you. It is still "his" bike... meaning he can take possession anytime, any date, anywhere.

He is doing a bill of sale and providing me the title. Amazing there is even a title as so many vaporize on old bikes. I will not take any parts until the BoS has been completed. He is straight up.
I am glad the frames are the same. Thank you for that. My heart has been set on a FLH style build as pictured on the previous page.
The bike could deserve to be taken back to an FX for the purist, but I don't believe there are any FX parts. I believe my buddies Dad received this bike the way we see it years ago.
I have a rather funny pic of the Duo Glide fender that comes with it.
