Default early vs late model flh 1983

Hi, I have a 1983 flh police bike, I have rebuilt the tranny and in the process of putting it all back together. In the manual, under torque spec's, it says for the transmission sprocket locknut, it should be 105 - 120 foot lbs for early 83 and earlier, for late 83 and later, it should be 80 - 90 ft lbs, The vin number is higher then 013030. I have tried to find info on internet with no luck. I would like to figure this out as I don't want to over or under torque this nut.
thank you in advance, Mike

You ought to post this in the Shovelhead section. Look for the Classic section and Shovelhead is a subsection of it.

The Shovelhead section of Classics is where the experts on this are.

Go with the later figure as the parts didn't change, it was probably just a change in how the factory torqued it having found it didn't need to be 105+.

I was told years ago by a dealer mechanic at least 100 foot pounds. You could probably max out at 110.
