Has anyone else had trouble with one of these kits? I cant seem to get the float needle to seat properly. Found a old original needle and going to swap it out and see if it holds. The clip on the import is way different than the original. I am thinking the design of the clip that goes on the needle is too wide and not letting the needle seat properly.
Also the black accelerator pump was a joke.Had use a decent old take out one. I cant hardly bring myself to paying $80 for a Bendix brand kit.
Any input appreciated
far as carbs S&S got it locked down. it's not cheap doe.
I want to keep the internal throttle wire. Dont think I can do that with S&S Super E. I would have to change bars and find throttle cables and housing.
Wouldn't Dream of one!!! Problems Years ago already... Zenith/Bendix, Facet Fuel Systems, still makes the Real Thing!!!!!
You Get what you pay for!!!
Hey Marty I am having trouble gettting the float to shut off. The import needle is longer and I had to readjust the float and it still flows right out of the carb. Put another stock one in and the same thing.
I have the float set at 3/16th and with one of my 3 needles I can hold down on the float and it seals off good. Put it on bike and gas flows right through. You think I may have the float spring wrong?
If so can you send me pic of which way it is supposed to go.
Im not familiar with this particular carb but I have run across instances where the float doesnt float anymore. Particularly with a brass float. Itll get a pinhole and fill part way with gas. If it is brass and doesnt float you can find the hole by putting the float into a pan of water, heat it and watch for a bubble
Im not sure if your float is brass though.

I have a stock throttle spiral setup with a S&S and it is still internal. Takes a minute to get a throttle cable the correct length, cut it and make it work, but it can be done.

I have tried 2 different floats. Surely both wouldnt be bad but I will check them
