I hate the starter buttons on Shovels , intermittently work then dont work . I installed a waterproof button the sides of my dashes . Both have never had one issue since doing it . Seems as a stupid thing to say but check battery and ground cable connections , tight and clean .
My battery connections are good. I replaced the cables with new ones from all *****. I think at some time they were replaced with automotive cables. they didn't fit so well and looked beat up.

Need to use a VOM , to determine if the button is sending the signal to pick up the starter relay . As stated if you hear it click normally its good , but not 100% of the time . If you hear the click check voltage at the started cable and determine voltage at that point . Lots of places to have an unknown loose connection . Volt Ohm Meter is your friend in this case .
