Previous owner did, I will be removing them. I'm planning on painting the bike matte black, when I figure out what all i want to do cosmetically. Im thinking about doing a bobber style look, but i'm still researching some stuff.

I looked into the rear fender, and apparently it is the original. This bike's vin says its a police model, and the above picture is what it shows this bike has.

Can anyone tell me is this called the case breather tube, that this little filter is attached to?

When you look at the part number listing for the rear fender it'll have the number then a dash followed by the year it was introduced. Then in the description of the part it'll say the year range it was used and as you said, police or not. Im no shovel expert but I didn't think the hinged fender was used up into the mid 1980's.

With this motor having the 93 s&s kit in it, can I use 20w50 or straight 60w oil either one?

Would it maybe leak less with the 60w?

Thanks for any help

The problem with that Delkron bottom cover is exactly what to expect. I really dont see the purpose, its not like you could fix anything through the opening. Try Hondabond or Yamabond and cross your fingers.

As for oil my S&S engine (Evo) suggests 20W50 so thats what I run and it has no shortage of oil pressure and it doesn't leak.

Thanks, with that yamabond, I would remove the plate and then put the sealer on top of gasket then reinstall?

With a new gasket, yes. That plate is only there so you can flush the bits out when the motor explodes mid-burnout
