I might have found what is leaking somewhat, this one screw on the plate doesnt tighten all the way just kinda spins. I put some thread sealant on it, not sure what else I could try.

I'm needing the brake pedal return spring for this bike, the one that hooks down by the rear brake pedal. When I look up the parts it shows a regular spring and a spring with long hook.

https://www.denniskirk.com/search/19...eturn+spring.q

Any idea which one I should get?

Something that can help you now and in the future is a factory parts book if you dont have one. They're easy to find on line. All the part numbers are there, the dimensions of the bolts, screws, nuts and the exploded views help a lot.

Thanks. What is strange as both the regular spring and the spring with the longer hook says replaces oem 41835-69

Maybe either one works

^ Thank you!

So, I mentioned I was looking to do a bobber build on this bike.

Basically, I could cut the fender and the fender struts here, right (i drew a line there)? The fender struts on this model don't do anything but hold the rear fender in place from what i can tell, where as on my evo softail for example the fender struts bolt to the frame.

I would cut a bit further back, it looks and works better in my opinion. In the 50's they didn't cut the fender, just took the hinged part off.

Before cutting, look at the hinge. Are all the segments the same size (aftermarket) or are they two different sizes (OEM). If OEM, I'm sure someone is looking for an OEM fender in good condition, you could buy an aftermarket fender for less than you can sell the OEM, and not cut up an increasingly rare piece.

I tried to get a good pic of the hinge

Also, here is what I'm thinking, now that you mentioned removing the hinged part. Remove it and use a grinder to smooth everything out and cut the back part of strut off. What do you think? I marked it with sharpie. Below
