Default 1976 FXE battery tray mounting help

I know the tray and oil tank bolt together with two bolts. There are two rubber isolators on the oil tank side. There are two more on the battery tray. One directly below the tray. The last one is below the right side upper shock bolt. On my frame there is NO hole for the rubber isolator. It’s almost like it was “glue” because the location is completely flat. The hole wasn’t welded and filled in. Any ideas?

Maybe the rubber is broken off clean from the disk that would have the stud welded to it. That would screw into the threaded hole. Look closely from the side to see if you can see the side of the disk.

I agree with the above. I'll bet the rubber broke off cleanly from the disc. Unscrew the disc.

Sbrmike is correct. I was a moron and put a set of vise grips on it and now have to extract the broken bolt.

Same to happened on a Sportster I had years ago. Bad design with weight of battery hanging out there coupled with the vibration. Used an easy out IIRC.
