say what I beg to differ it's the same bottom on a pan head
Its different visually for starters then in how the timer mounts and the provisions to control it vs a shovel setup. Also oiling to the lifters if at all vs a shovel, oil return arrangement and whether its inside or outside oiler. Most pans were inside oilers but shovels are not. The Pan-shovel designation is for someone that really wishes they had pan heads on it but want the recognition anyway.

Actually..Pan-Shovel is for Them cats that had a Pan and thought the Shovel heads were a bit Better..(not worth it to Me)..More like a Shovster to Me...But..There were quite a few Done..
Do Not fall for the old "same bottom end" internet BS...Kinda like a Evo cannot, no way, have a Shovel Bottom End..Not Possible!!
Unless you go with the Shovel Jug mounting and Steel Cylinders..No Longer either to me..Now it is a Drag Racing Engine tho!!
BTW Evo's Do sound at least as good as a Shovel, when equipped with Steel cylinders!!

I know it was a thing and why but times have changed. Now it's more impressive to have a Panhead so they need to let you know what it once was.
