Hiya,
so I have In issue with an exhaust leak right at the header flange and rear exhaust port.
Backside where theres no bolt starts to sag and thats wheee it leaks
any trick to these genious shevel head one bolt design?
Loose the bolts and put studs in first off, bolts will always works loose. Make very sure the rear supports for the pipes are positioned correctly so the pipes DO NOT pull when you tighten things down. Last I clean the port I flange surface & use the small thin copper o'ring gaskets and I use a lite smear the flange, gasket on, a lite bit on that & inside the port with Permatex ultra gray, don't need heavy. Tighten everything in place solid, wipe any excess off and let sit overnight. Leaks gone, it doesn't stink and with the studs it'll stay put.
Toss that Imported Exhaust system.. a Proper Exhaust needs No Bolt at all...the system naturally sits where it belongs.... my Mentor from long ago said..You should be able to lift yer Harley by the exhaust.. no problems!!
Yes to the Ultra Grey, but the exhaust sitting properly is the answer. All the mounts lower down need to not pull or yank on the exhaust flange. Good luck.

I need to play around with it. Because I had a header made. I fit a shovelhead engine into a Evo touring frame. So I guess I need to get creative with supporting it so it doesn't pull down and sag.
thank you
