I do not ride her much, but when I do I remember how much fun they are and nice to have in the fleet for every once in a while. I rode this two up with my girlfriend, now wife, from NYC to Buffalo, Cleveland and then back across Pennsylvania. 10 day trip, stopped to do laundry once. We were a lot smaller then and did know any better.

Bike will be 35 next year my plan is to bring her to the AMCA meet at Oley PA, her first year eligible. Then to Reading MC to rip her down their 1/8 drag strip. I often think about selling her to some young guy that will put another 20k miles on her, but then I get sentimental. Doesn't cost me anything to keep her and she always starts right up. I broke down about 3 years ago and got new tires, between me and my brother we guessed the tires on there were from the 90's. Almost got killed on her in 1991 by an old man who thought he could blow a stop sign and beat me through an intersection, but I am still here.

Funny I could have sold her about 20 years ago for $3k, today I probably would get the same $3k.

Nice pic... Old Dock??

Same here, bought my 1991 brand new as well back in November, 1990.

My bike turns 35 years old on November 24! I guess that makes it "officially" an antique motorcycle? I can't believe I was only 32 when I bought it, and still have it and ride it regularly, although usually only about 30 miles or so for a good warm up run every week or so.

Agreed, however that MT500 was English with an Austrian engine.

Used to call them Snortsters too, but I think I like the term piglet the best. That '75 sold for $4500, more than I wanted to spend on a bike that I would not fit very well on. Even my '81 FXS is kind of small for me. I wish I did not sell my '21 RK, at least I fit on it halfway decent. It was a fine motor cycle!
